Tensile Fabric

Jens Meyer is a German artist who specializes in tensile fabric sculptures and installations. The pieces usually consist of steel, cables, and a fabric created by Gore (think GoreTex.) The Gore Tenara is an architectural fabric that is UV "immune" and stain resistant claiming that white will stay white even after long sun exposure.
Jens' website shows plenty of photos of sculptures, installations and even photos of him installing pieces. My favorite being the photo of the scruffy installers with fabric in the dirt and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Luckily the fabric has great fire resistant qualities too!
